Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary
Mulliner, Bentley's bespoke coachbuilding unit has designed a distinctive keycase to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Bentley. It is constructed of Dark stained Walnut with Piano Black Veneer and includes a flying "B" paperweight, keys, and a booklet featuring never-before-seen 1930s 8 Litre images.
This is the ideal method to welcome a brand new owner of a vehicle.

Aesthetics
As a company that is primarily focused on design, Bentley takes its aesthetics extremely seriously. It is evident in the precise position of its quilting, the selection of leather from cattle by-products, the wood from sustainable forests and the innovative patterns on its levers. A car like the Continental GT W12 beckons as you take it in and showcases its stunning sculptural design and power by carefully curated lighting.
The Continental GT is the most sophisticated open-top Bentley ever built. Its rear tonneau, as an example, showcased the largest piece of book-matched, dark-stained Burr Walnut veneer ever applied to an actual production Bentley. Similarly, the electrically-operated glass sunroof and champagne cooler that incorporated hand-blown and hand-cut lead crystal bottles marked a new benchmark in luxury and innovation.
It is this bespoke design, attention to detail and craftsmanship to detail that has established Bentley as the world's most desirable automotive brand. The company continues to push the limits with the latest technology and craft, including the introduction of an instrument cluster that is digital as well as an electric tilt-opening rear glass sunroof, a custom-designed docking station for Apple iPads, and electrochromic "smart" glass that can be changed from transparent to opaque by pressing an arrow.
A century after its founding, Bentley - now under sole Volkswagen ownership following years of wrangling with BMW - celebrated its centenary in 2019. The marque planned a series of special events and launches to commemorate the occasion before the pandemic was declared a priority.
Design
Bentley is known for its extravagant and lavish automobiles, but even the keys are designed to make a statement. The Bentayga Key is made of sterling silver and features the large B' logo to signal to everyone that you're a Bentley. It's also engraved with the years 1919 and 2019 to celebrate the company's centenary.
bentley key redesigned and developed the Mulsanne to become the ultimate Grand Touring vehicle. The rear seats are designed to give passengers unparalleled comfort and privacy. They were inspired by the luxury private aircraft. A customized heating, ventilation and air conditioning system was designed to give each passenger the ideal temperature control.
The Mulsanne comes with twin turbocharged 6.75 litre W12 engine with 560bhp and 479lb-ft torque. This powerhouse is complemented by a new suspension system that provides Bentley's hushed, quiet ride.
In celebration of its Centenary, Bentley introduced a unique specification known as the Centenary Specification for cars manufactured in 2019. This includes cross-stitching and contrast stitching in Centenary Gold thread throughout the cabin. The Bentley Wings are embroidered with Centenary Gold on the headrests and seats as well as other areas of the car. This enhances the celebration. The Centenary Specification also includes a personalized Bentley keycase, which completes the Bentley experience.
Function
The Bentley Mulsanne Key features two buttons: one that opens the trunk, and another that is used to start the vehicle. It also has a switch that can turn on the parking break. There is a knob that can fold and unfold the mirrors when parking in tight spaces. This feature makes it easier to get into and out of your car.
Each key takes about two days to make. The key is cut by hand, then shaped, sewed after which it is sealed and polished to achieve a high-quality result. It is durable compact and fits the Bentley key perfectly. Its design is similar to that of the Volkswagen Phaeton large car's key, but it feels much heavier and has a more premium feel.
Secure-A-Key is also included to help prevent keyless entry theft. bentley key fob is put into the remote control fob, and it shuts it down when the key has not been used for a short period of time. It stops thieves from transmitting the key's frequency to other devices which will allow the key to be opened and start the vehicle.
Bentley's distinctive design is a reflection of the values of the company that include high-quality craftsmanship engineering expertise, as well as modern technology. Its headquarters in Crewe is home to more than 4000 employees responsible for the development, design, and production of Bentley vehicles. These workers use skills handed through generations and apply them to the latest in technology in the automotive industry. This is British manufacturing at its finest.
Personalisation
Bentley's Mulliner division allows customers to create their own car. The customers sit at a set of images referred to as "mood stations" and select a series of photos ranging from picturesque views to sporting events that are inspiring to them to design their own. Each time a selection is made, a pattern will emerge which shows the design and color preferences for the personalized Bentley.
The guests receive a key case made by hand that contains the R.F.I.D. enabled key cards. The keys can be fitted with Bentley Muliner Personalised welcome lamps that illuminate the pathway of the door's opening. They are adorned with the owner's logo or name as they approach the vehicle.
Bentley estimates that it takes 500 man-hours on average to build and assemble a Mulsanne. The unwillingness to embrace modern technology is the primary factor to this time-consuming task. Instead of using a machine to place the perfectly matched cross-stitched leather seats, workers at the Crewe factory do it by hand. Drivers must park their vehicles manually, rather than relying on the built-in sensors to guide them into perpendicular and parallel spaces.
Bentley showcased its Mulliner personalization capabilities in a unique Mulsanne W.O. Edition, which pays homage to founder William Osler Bentley.
